Such is Life

Ramsey has been such a good baby.  I'm scared to ginx it, but he is sleeping 8 hours at night.  I actually have to wake him up in the morning before work to feed him!  He likes to be held in the evening, but the Baby Bjorn usually does the trick.

Unfortunately, we have had quite the insurance fiasco.  I have to use this "forum" of mine to tell the world (or my few readers out there) that the STATE HEALTH BENEFIT PLAN (SHBP) is absolutely horrible!  For those of you who don't know, this is the organization responsible for the insurance for state government workers.
So, when I had Ramsey in December I was responsible for getting all my paperwork to them within the weeks after his birth.  Tim took Ramsey for his 2 month check-up only to find out he was not covered under my insurance.  WHAT?!?  I immediately got on the phone to find out it was the SHBP's fault! They never sent our paperwork over to Blue Cross Blue Shield.  I gave them a few days to get it right, and it still wasn't fixed.  I called on 6 separate occasions before I got livid!!

To make a long story a little shorter, I ended up getting him covered by contacting the professional teacher organization I am a member of (PAGE) and had their legal department contact SHBP.  Ramsey was covered with a confirmation number within hours!! It's amazing what a lawyer can do!!

Ramsey finally got his check-up, almost 3 weeks late, but he is a healthy baby boy!

Height: 24 inches (59%)
Weight: 11 pounds 8 ounces (9%)
Head: 15.75 inches (48%)

So, he's long and skinny for now.... but we are working on that!  Which brings me to my next thought...

Working and pumping sucks!! I'm just gonna go ahead and put it out there for all the mamas who have to do it.  If you have been down this road, cheers to you!! It takes some serious dedication and love to keep it going! I can't wait until summer and I don't have to be hooked up to that thing 24/7.  Okay, end of rant!

More updates soon! Spring Break is next week so I might get a chance to breathe :)

Terrible or Terrific Twos?

We've got a 2 YEAR old and a 2 MONTH old now.  It still amazes me all the things that a child can learn in that amount of time.  Our oh-so precious two year old has learned how to act like a not-so precious teenager.  The "no's" are sometimes never-ending, but we are enjoying him sleeping in until after 9:30.

Daddy and Ramsey started practicing sitting last week while mommy was at work.  And while Tim was umpiring the boys and I enjoyed the beautiful weather outside with a picnic and playground time.

Ramsey has graced us with his adorable smile.  I just love his squishy cheeks; I could kiss them all day.

Everyone continues to tell us Ramsey looks just like Brooks did, so I enjoy putting their pictures next to each other at the same age. Here they are around 8 weeks when they first began to smile.

Our family has adjusted well to adding a new little man to the house.  Brooks seems to adore his little brother.  Mommy & Daddy are proud to announce that despite many changes in our income and expenses we are finally debt free (except the house).  Big shout out to Dave Ramsey and Coach Attaway for leading and guiding us to a better family legacy.

Stay tuned for Ramsey's stats on the next post- he didn't get to have his 2 month appointment yet, but his pictures sure are cute.

Last weekend we got to spend time with fabulous friends and watch a Gymdog meet for Alumni night.  Okay, I'll be honest- my mom and I didn't get to watch much of it.  It turns out my 2 year old can't sit still for that long.  Major mom fail... I should have known!

My mom watched all these kiddos (with my sister's help too) while Marie and I walked out on the floor.  What a trooper!  They were both such a big help.
