Beach Babe

We had an absolutely fabulous baby-moon to the beach this week!  We got some much needed R&R and enjoyed watching Brooks experience some new things.  He loved the ocean (but continued to call it a pool the whole time).  A special thank you to my BFF, CJ and her fam for making this trip happen!  Love you!
I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves
(I took enough of them)!

Ramsey's first time on the beach (27 weeks)!

Brooks loved playing with the truck on the sand!

Brooks was obsessed with chasing the birds!

That smile just melts my heart! (I might have to put this one on canvas)!

Priceless!

He's just so handsome, just like his daddy!

I think we wore him out!

A Big Boy Room It Is...

Brooks has recently begun sleeping in his new room.  He took to it with no problem, but mommy... now that's a different story.  I just feel like the "nursery" will never be the same.  Brooks made me a true mom in that room.  It was the wee hours of the night I spent feeding and rocking him, the 2AM fevers where Tim and I worried over him, the countless baths and story times, and the all important cuddles.  I know Brooks and I will make precious memories in his new room, and I will be more prepared for the memories to come with Ramsey, but it's still a little sad...
I only have a few pictures of Brooks' new room, but there will be more to come!

Grandma turned 60 and retired this month!  Congrats Mom!  Here are a few pictures of her many celebrations!

Mom's retirement celebration at work.  All the grandsons were there and stayed busy "closing up shop!"
After the work party, mom got to take all the grand-babies to "Catch Air."  They had an absolute blast, and Ramsey even got to go down a slide or two!

Brooks thought I couldn't see him when he "hid" in the balls!

Brooks also had a blast playing at his Papa & Nana's house!

My cousin Emily is so funny!!
(He looks so grown up in those jeans!)

We also celebrated Mommy's 29th birthday this week!  Brooks loved the balloons, as usual!

Busy with babes...

...That pretty much explains our house these days.  Between Brooks (who is now 21 months old) and Baby Hourigan (who is now 24 weeks along) we stay pretty consumed.  Consumed being a positive word because Brooks keeps us busy laughing and Ramsey keeps us busy dreaming.  That's right folks, he has a name!!

Ramsey John Hourigan

Many of you will ask, "Is Ramsey a family name?"  The answer is no.  We like names that are a little different, but not too "out there." Tim suggested Ramsey on the way home from our ultrasound when we found out he is a boy, and we both really liked it.  We have been playing around with it for months now and are ready to commit :)  His middle name is a family name.  My maternal grandfather's name is John.  There's a good chance Ramsey is also called "RJ."
Brooks and his cousins!  (Braxton and Maddox on the top,
Sydney "Nini" on the bottom)

Ramsey is now at the age where he could survive (with a lot of help) outside of the womb, but lets pray he stays in there for a while longer (like 14 weeks longer).  His big brother is also busy preparing for the little guy.  We are in the process of moving Brooks to his big boy room, I'll post some pictures when we are finished.  Brooks is currently calling the baby "Bubba" which sounds really cute coming from him (what doesn't?)!

Brooks and Daddy are continuing to enjoy all their special time together, and mommy secretly can't wait for her maternity leave so she can get in on some of that (secret's out, whoops)!  Above are some pictures Daddy took while they were at the park, I love Brooks' face on the right!  Brooks has also started saying "Daddy" instead of "Da-da" and just tonight he used "thank you mama" for the first time without me asking! He melts my heart (obviously)!

We went to the UGA vs. South Carolina game last weekend and had a great time with family and friends!  Athens is still fabulous!

Wesley's A-mazing tailgate trailer!! We had a blast!

 Tailgating fun at UGA!

Ramsey's First UGA game!

Here is our current cutie relaxing with a snack (and totally zoomed into the trains on Thomas and Friends... his favorite show)!

Better Late than Never

It feels likes it's been forever since my last post, but such is the life of this baby growing, first grade teaching, toddler loving mom.  I feel like my new little guy is already getting the short end of the stick!  This little momma can't outrun the stereotype that happens with second children.... they don't get all the hoopla of the first!  Oh well, I'm doing the best I can!

The first go 'round I had a picture of my growing belly every 2 weeks!  Here I am almost 22 weeks... and I have 2 pictures!  Whoops! Here is my belly at 20 weeks:

Last weekend I had the privilege of spending some quality time with my best friends (this doesn't happen often seeing as we all live hours apart).  They are so sweet to throw Baby Hourigan and I a little "sprinkle."

Speaking of baby Hourigan (still no name)- he has really started moving and grooving in there!  I would still describe it as one of the best feelings in the world!  It really makes the pregnancy feel "real" because I haven't had as much time to focus on it.

Brooks continues to stay on the move, but sweet as ever!  He has started giving my belly (the baby) kisses.  His teachers have also been impressed with the animal sounds he knows (go daddy)!

And who couldn't fall in love with this smile?

Brooks has been extra impressive to me this week too!  He made it all the way through church on Sunday without one of us having to take him out (thank you Jesus), he has not been throwing as many fits out of frustration (knock on wood), and his speaking becomes more clear each day with new words!  He continues to be the biggest blessing in our lives.

Now, let's see how long this great behavior lasts as we start moving him into his new big boy bedroom!
