Let's Cut Ourselves Some Slack...

In this busy, publicized world we live in it's easy to find ourselves overwhelmed. Overwhelmed with all of the pressures we put on ourselves. I, for one, constantly work at being a great mom, a great wife, a great housekeeper, and a great educator among other things. We see people doing it all on social media and cannot even fathom how it's possible. Well folks, it's not! And I'm not saying you can't be all of those things, just not at the same time.  Something has to go on the back burner in order to focus our attention. I have finally realized (and given myself permission) to put things on the back burner. You see, there are times when I truly need to focus on my career. I got another degree and had to give a lot of attention to that- so other things slipped. Sometimes we have to let things slip for a day, an hour, or a month. What I want to remind you is that it's okay!  It's okay if your house becomes a wreck because you are focusing on quality time with the kiddos. It's okay to neglect the special time with the kids to get a project finished one afternoon. It's okay to leave work early to squeeze in some one on one time with your oldest. It's okay to run by the gym for some "me time." And it's okay to stay at work late and finish up that to-do list. I think most importantly we need to cut ourselves some slack.  You'll never be the best at everything, but you do the best you can. You see, we all juggle a lot. So let some things slide while you focus on what's important in that moment- and give yourself permission to not feel guilty about it (because Mom Guilt is a serious thing!)
So if you're stopping by my house anytime soon, I'll just remind you that housekeeping isn't my focus right now 😉
Cheers 🍻 to cutting ourselves some slack and  not feeling guilty about it!

Soccer Stars

Both boys are in full swing of their soccer seasons, here are a few pictures to document ⚽️🥅👍🏻 We love Coach Erin! And we have really enjoyed a second season with the same kiddos!  Ramsey had a 3 year old moment this weekend and didn't spend much time playing, but I think he'll be ready for the next game!  This is his happy face 🙃  More to come!

Almost the Birthday Girl

Our sweet girl is 1 month away from the big birthday! Her personality is really shining through! She claps, points, waves bye bye, and is WALKING!  She gives the best hugs! All the teachers at her school talk about how unique her tight squeezing hugs are. They are just what the doctor ordered for this tired mama on many nights!
Eden still loves to chant "mama" but there is an occasional dada and bubba in there 😉
Eden and her BFF Abigail are beginning to notice each other (or steal pacifiers, 😂). They are going to have so much fun growing up next to each other!
All in all, this girl brings a special *pink* joy to our house, and I can't even remember it without her! Stunned that the year has flown by so quickly. Lord, please help me cherish these times because all too often the stressors overtake the wonderful memories that could be made. ❤️

10 Months Young

This sweet girl just gets better and better each day! I love this picture because she is staring at Ramsey with such amazement in her eyes! She will be running around with the boys in no time! We finally got to the doctor for her 9 month appointment (yes, you end up a month late on baby #3)! Eden is measuring: Weight: 18 pounds 4 oz (26th %) Height: 28 inches (48th %) Head: 44 cm (39th %) Eden has 2 teeth on the bottom and I can feel 2 big teeth ready to come in on top! She loves table food... well all food for that matter. She is a busy little thing- follows the boys everywhere. She is a fast crawler but is loving to stand (and she can pop right up now too). She is getting the hang of taking steps while holding my hands. She is such a happy girl, although she wants her mama to hold her whenever she can get her eyes on me!  Eden battled the flu this month, but she was a champ through it all!  Crazy to think her first birthday is right around the corner! Tim and I were talking about how her first year has seemed to go the fastest of all the kiddos. I am trying to hang on to every bit of "baby." In fact, I got so sad folding her clothes this week realizing I won't ever fold clothes this small again 😔 Good thing she enjoys snuggles as much as I do!
