The Sweet Spot

I can feel the sweet spot of parenting on the rise for me... that time when your kiddos are independent to wipe their own butt, but still love to hug and snuggle you! As a mom, I’m really trying to find the happy in everything, and not think about the time that is gone or the time that will come. We are bombarded with this idea “enjoy it because it goes fast” but I think every stage has joy to be found in it. I could look back at their adorable baby faces and find sadness, but I choose to find joy in their ability to sleep through the night (most of the time), wipe their own butts (most of the time), and play independently (most of the time).

This is our Summer Bucket list. My summer is only 4 weeks this year, so we are making the most of it! These small moments together help give them something to look forward to, and takes away my mom guilt on the days we do nothing substantial (I can look at that list and be reminded of all the great experiences we have given them recently)!

The boys loved Oregon Park night at the Braves game! They got to walk on the field at SunTrust Park, and enjoy the game with some baseball buddies!

Eden has officially started gymnastics! The moment this leotard showed up in the mail she had to put it on!

This was my first team leotard, Eden loved trying it on too!

She is truly enjoying it!

We made s’mores!

And Brownie Icecream Sundaes!

This is Eden helping me pack her bathing suits for the beach, lol!

This was our crafts day! The kids painted suncatchers! Super easy (you can find various ones with paint and everything at the Dollar Tree)!

This was our STEM marshmallow build!

My new living room rug came, super happy with it!

Ramsey’s All-Star baseball team had their tournament last week!

Ramsey loves having Daddy as his coach!

We are getting excited about our trip to the beach coming soon! Look for a post in the coming weeks!

School’s Out For The Summer

These kiddos have grown massively this year! Brooks now loves to read graphic novels with mom, he is an addition mastermind, and loves to sing and dance! He finished up 1st grade with an almost perfect report card, and we could not be more proud of him! He is settling in at Pickett’s Mill and his little brother will join him next year!

Ramsey has become quite the socialite! His classmates adore him and he loves to practice sounding out words (especially on Mommy’s back at night). He is super into baseball and is enjoying playing on Daddy’s team!

This girl keeps everyone laughing! She is fun, opinionated, and can often be confused for a 13 year old 😉 She loves to give and receive hugs, take care of her new Cabbage Patch baby (Riley Sue), and put her brothers in their place.

TV dinner night while watching a new favorite at our house, The Sandlot.

Always loving to crawl all over Papa!

Ramsey and Eden had performances at school with some Spanish songs, and dancing act by Ramsey, and a sweet sun shine performance from Eden!

He earned “Class Comedian”- we are so proud, lol!

Kentucky Bluegrass fun for the Great America Kid Campout over Memorial Day!
