All for Ramsey

Brooks had so many posts devoted to him while he was busy growing in my belly; I figured I'd better give Ramsey one post all his own before his debut!

We are 4 days out and counting until we become a family of 4.  Ramsey is scheduled for a c-section on December 27 at 5PM.  Momma is very busy getting all the last minute things ready!  December will prove to always be a crazy month with 4 special birthdays packed in there (Brooks, Jesus, Ramsey, and my Dad)!

38 weeks pregnant :)

Being over-prepared certainly comes natural to me, so my mom and I made Ramsey a stocking just in case he came a little early.

Ready for my lil' man #2

This little booger is quite the mover and shaker!  I feel him move much more than Brooks moved, and Tim and I actually caught a picture of Ramsey jamming his foot in my belly (which happens often)!
This is my view of Ramsey's foot poking out,
you can see how my belly is mis-shaped!
This is Tim's view of Ramsey's foot poking out,
you could actually measure it above my belly button!

This is my latest "craft" for Ramsey.  It's all ready to go for his newborn and monthly pictures!

Ramsey should be almost 20 inches long and weigh about 7 pounds now!  We'll find out soon enough how close he is!  We're taking bets on his birth weight...

Lookout for my next update, it will probably include our latest blessing (and some Christmas photos)!

Brooks is 2!

We all say it over and over, but I can't believe Brooks is growing so fast! My sweet baby boy is 2 years old.  He continues to amaze me and shape my heart, as I learn how to be a patient, understanding mommy.  He has started saying "I love you" on his own after I say it to him.  I have a few adorable stories that I want to share, and put them down in history (or just on my blog):

Boy does he love cars!

Brooks loves to say "Amen" and usually does before, during, and after every prayer.  One night he had a really high fever and we were up in the middle of the night doing the whole routine: clothes off, medicine, juice, etc.  I gave him a full cup of juice and he immediately began chugging.  He drank as much as he could before he had to take a breath, and when he took the cup out of his mouth he despairingly said, "Amen!"  He repeated this three times.  It was good comic relief and melted my heart!

Who, me?

Brooks is very independent, but has taken to grabbing my hand and pulling me over to play with him.  At first it was super cute, but I admit it can be frustrating when I'm cooking dinner!  He also likes to watch the cars driving around us, but when a car stops in front of us (or gosh forbid is facing us in the suicide lane) he has an absolute fit: "NO, NO CAR!"

Celebrating my birthday with Nana & Papa and Lala!

My 2 year old got a fantastic playground for his birthday (a special thank you to Nana and Papa for helping to purchase, and to O'pa for helping put it together).  Brooks watched his daddy and O'pa work on it for days, and then finally it was nice enough to play!

The finished product (minus a few details still to be added):

The plan was for all his cousins and friends to come play for his "Cars themed" birthday, unfortunately it poured rain that day!  But we still had fun!  He got a motorized car from his Grandma and O'pa which was a big hit with all the kiddos.

When we went to eat cake, I lit the candles and Brooks immediately started singing, "Happy..." all by himself!  I was so shocked!  I didn't even know he knew the song, let alone when to sing it!

Along with a birthday comes that dreaded doctor well-visit.  He is cutting all 4 canine teeth and one of tubes in his ear may need to be removed, but other than that it was a good appointment!

Weight: 27.2 pounds (55%)
Height: 35.25 inches (71%)
Head: 50%
Brooks loves to sing!  He has started singing this cute little song he made up where he just repeats "I love you" over and over again.  He has also made an additional version of his song that goes with his brother's name.  He sings, "R-J-J" over and over (often accompanied by a little dance).  I tried to upload a video, but it won't show up!
Just in the last couple weeks Brooks has started showing real compassion for characters in shows and movies.  For example, he will get scared or upset if a character is and he will run to sit with me.  It's amazing how you can see his understanding developing!

This will probably be one the last posts while Brooks is an only child.  He will be introducing his baby brother soon!  Prayers would be appreciated for an extraordinary meeting of Brooks and Ramsey.

Thanksmas

This post is for all those fabulous memories that have occurred somewhere between the holidays.  Starting off with a fabulous trip to see all my besties and their babies!   Sweet baby David turned one and all the boys had a blast playing together!
Such special friends!  My family is so blessed to have each of you!
Thanksgiving was at Lori & Wesley's house this year and the "men" helped put together Braxton and Maddox's new playground.  The little boys waited with anticipation, and then enjoyed playing in the freezing cold!
This picture cracks me up!  Maddox and Brooks are playing together, while Braxton sits between them, dressed as Elmo and oblivious!
Here are the men frying a turkey for Thanksgiving!  It was delicious!

This was the "City Mouse" and "Country Mouse" picture!

<----    Somebody missed his nap!
Brooks went to see Santa Claus in our neighborhood and we were glad we didn't pay at the mall because he had no interest once again!

We tried roasting marshmallows; he didn't love that either!
Brooks got an early Christmas present from his Nana & Papa and loves his elephant blanket!  I just love it that he will snuggle with me, even if its only for 5 minutes!

Happy Thanksmas everybody!
